Marcel-Valentin Măcelaru eng

Marcel-Valentin Măcelaru was born on November 19, 1970, and was raised in a Christian Pentecostal family in Timișoara.

In 1997, he graduated from the Evangelical Theological Faculty in Osijek, Croatia. He then pursued specialization courses in the Old Testament and the New Testament at the University of Leeds, England (2002), and at the Faculty of Evangelical Theology in Osijek, Croatia (2006). In 2008, he earned a Doctor of Theology degree, specializing in Old Testament Theology, from the University of Oxford, England, and in 2017, he received a similar qualification from Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca.His educational career began in 1998 when he became a teacher at the Faculty of Evangelical Theology in Osijek, Croatia, teaching courses in his area of specialization. Over the years, he continued to serve as a teacher and held leadership positions in various contexts and institutions, both domestically and internationally, including at ITP in Bucharest.

Currently, he serves as a Professor of Theology at “Aurel Vlaicu” University in Arad, where he oversees theological didactic and research activities.

Marcel-Valentin Măcelaru has authored 18 books and more than 100 articles and studies. He has also been extensively involved in foreign missionary activities across Europe, Africa, Latin America, and Asia.

He serves as a member of the leadership team of the International Fellowship for Mission as Transformation organization and the Central and Eastern European Association of Mission Studies. Additionally, he collaborates with institutions such as the Oxford Center for Mission Studies and Ekklesia Bible College on cross-cultural mission and educational projects.

He is married to Mirela, and together they have a son, Vedran.
